OSCE Mission to Skopje donates equipment for Roma Decade project

SKOPJE, 29 December 2008 - The OSCE Mission to Skopje donated office equipment today to the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy for its planned unit to implement the National Strategy for Roma.

The project, initiated by the Ministry and supported by the OSCE Mission to Skopje, is part of activities under the Roma Decade initiative.

"It is a pleasure to see government initiatives that strive to improve Roma participation in public and political life, and to ensure the Roma community's full enjoyment of social and economic rights on a par with other communities," said Ambassador Natalya Drozd, the Acting Head of OSCE Mission to Skopje.

Spiro Ristovski, the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy, added: "The equipment donated by the OSCE Mission will help boost municipal and inter-ministerial co-operation to implement the government's Roma related commitments."
