OSCE Mission to Skopje trains interior ministry staff to deal with hostage situations
Starting from 5 May 2014, the Police Development Unit of the OSCE Mission to Skopje supports two advanced training courses on “crisis management in hostage situations” and “hostage negotiation”. The courses are held in co-operation with the country’s Interior Ministry and the International Training Centre in Budapest.
Twelve participants from the Special Units Department of the Ministry gather to learn and practise how to establish and operate a police crisis management team and how to control negotiations in crisis situations more efficiently.
The course participants already received basic level training on the same topic last year in Budapest. These courses are offered in the framework of longstanding collaboration with the OSCE Mission to Skopje on dealing with transnational threats and fighting organized crime.
