OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier met the newly inaugurated President of Kyrgyzstan, Almazbek Atambayev, on 1 December 2011.
Zannier, in Bishkek to attend the inauguration ceremony, also met former President Roza Otunbaeva and Deputy Foreign Minister Dinara Kemelova.
They discussed the forthcoming Ministerial Council in Vilnius and OSCE co-operation with Kyrgyzstan, including the country’s 2012 chairmanship of the OSCE’s Forum for Security Co-operation and the future of the Community Security Initiative, which aims to improve confidence between police and local communities.
