OSCE Mission and Serbian Ministry of Interior to hold regional conference on organized crime

BELGRADE, 13 December 2004 - Improving the exchange of operational information and advancing regional co-operation in the fight against the illegal trade in narcotics is the focus of a conference to be held in Belgrade on 14 and 15 December.
Organized by the Ministry of Interior of Republic of Serbia and supported by the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro, the two-day event is entitled "Intensifying Co-operation and Improving Information Exchange in the Area of Suppression of Drug Smuggling on the Balkan Route".
Experts in the field of fighting drugs smuggling and organised crime from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (including Republika Srpska), Bulgaria, Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia, Hungary and Serbia and Montenegro, as well as OSCE experts, will share their experience.
Advisor to the Head of Public Security Sector of Serbia's Ministry of Interior Srbislav Randelovic and Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro Douglas Wake will speak at the opening.
Media representatives are invited to attend the opening session on Tuesday, 14 December from 9:30-10:00hrs at the Hotel M at 56a Bulevar JNA in Belgrade.
