BELGRADE, 7 May 2004 - The OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro has today welcomed the appointment of seven judges to the Court of Serbia and Montenegro. "The appointments to the Court, which will have responsibilities that include ruling on disputes that arise under the Constitutional Charter, mark an important milestone in strengthening of the institutions of Serbia and Montenegro," said Ambassador Maurizio Massari, Head of the OSCE Mission.
"The strengthening of the judiciary is one of the most important activities of the OSCE Mission and we are ready to lend our support to the Court of Serbia and Montenegro," he added.
