OSCE Mission to Serbia supports workshop on communication skills for regional police chiefs
BELGRADE, 18 November 2009 - Twenty-seven Serbian regional police chiefs completed a two-day training course on public relations and communication skills in Belgrade today.
This is the second event supported by the OSCE Mission to Serbia and the Interior Ministry's Bureau for Media Co-operation since October aimed at improving communication between police and media, and enhancing professional standards in police communication with citizens.
"Public relations are an inseparable part of police work," said Torbjorn Sande, the head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia's Law Enforcement Department. "This workshop supports police professionalism and gives participants the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate effectively with the media."
The OSCE Mission to Serbia will continue to support the process of increasing transparency at all public institutions, particularly those involved in securing the safety of Serbian citizens.
