OSCE Mission to Serbia trains journalists in southwestern Serbia
NOVI PAZAR, 18 June 2009 - Some 17 media professionals from southwestern Serbian television stations improved their interviewing skills at an OSCE Mission workshop which ended today in Novi Pazar.
The three-day event, co-organized with independent production group Mreza, brought together journalists from five television stations from Novi Pazar, Tutin, Prijepolje and Raska and is part of the OSCE Mission to Serbia's programme for improving broadcast journalism standards in the region.
"Some of the country's top journalists came from Belgrade to share their professional experience with their colleagues in southwest Serbia. This training programme is an important opportunity for journalists to exchange and discuss ideas and working practices," said Dragana Nikolic Solomon, head of the OSCE Mission's Media Department.
"The journalists participating in the previous seminars have visibly improved the quality of their production after each cycle of training," said Vladan Radosavljevic, one of the Mreza group training co-ordinators.
This is the third training seminar conducted by Mreza in the region. The OSCE Mission will organize a similar workshop for media outlets from southern Serbia in Presevo, Bujanovac and Vranje in August.
