OSCE Mission to Serbia to launch project on engaging civil society in police reform
BELGRADE, 15 December 2008 - Fostering wider civil society engagement in the debate on police reform is the aim of a project that will be launched in Belgrade tomorrow.
The project is a joint effort of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, the Embassies of the Netherlands, Hungary and Norway, and the Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF).
The Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Ambassador Hans Ola Urstad, Ambassadors Ron Van Dartel of the Netherlands, Sandor Papp of Hungary, Haakon Blankenborg of Norway, and a representative from DCAF will speak at the event. Representatives of the Interior Ministry and the Defence and Security Committees of Parliament, and a delegation of the European Commission to Serbia will also attend.
Journalists are invited to attend a news conference from 9.30 to 10.30, on Tuesday, 16 December, in the Conference Room of Hotel Balkan, Prizrenska 2, Belgrade.
