OSCE Mission to announce "Persons of the Year" at reception tomorrow
BELGRADE, 15 December 2006 - The OSCE Mission to Serbia will announce the winners of its 2008 "Persons of the Year" awards in Belgrade tomorrow.
Organized for the third consecutive time, the award recognizes individuals who have contributed to implementing the OSCE Mission's programmes and who in their work uphold OSCE values. Five individuals will receive awards for their work in the fields of law enforcement, rule of law and human rights, democratization, media, and economy and environment.
The winners have decided to donate the financial part of the award (around 8,000 euro), to the Home for the Protection of Children and Youth "Dragutin Filipovic JUSA," which provides housing, medical services and education to some 30 children. The project is financed by the OSCE Mission.
Journalists are invited to attend the reception and the awards ceremony from 18.00 to 20.00, on Tuesday, 16 December, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Milentija Popovica 5, Belgrade.
