Business Incubator Centre to open in Belgrade with OSCE Mission support

BELGRADE, 16 April 2007 - A Business Incubator Centre affiliated with Belgrade University's technical faculties will open tomorrow with support from the OSCE Mission to Serbia, the Government of Israel and the City of Belgrade.
The Centre's non-profit operation will be based on foreign experience and best practices. The Centre will support students in starting up their own businesses and encourage them to stay in Serbia by creating conditions for the practical application of scientific research in the economic sector. Centres such as these are important factors in the promotion of sustainable economic development.
Alexandar Sedmak, Prorector of the University of Belgrade, Ambassador Hans Ola Urstad, Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Aleksandar Popovic, Minister of Science and Environmental Protection, Ambassador Yaffa Ben Ari, Ambassador of the State of Israel, Vlatko Sekulovic, State Secretary of the Ministry of International Economic Relations and Belgrade City Manager Bojan Stanojevic will attend the event.
The Centre's founders are the faculties of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Technological-Metallurgical Engineering, the Municipality of Palilula and the NGO Democratic Transition Initiatives.
Journalists are invited to the opening of the Business Incubator Centre, on Tuesday, 17 April at 12.00, at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra 73, 1st floor, Belgrade.
