OSCE Mission to hold conference in Montenegro on public procurement best practices and standards
BELGRADE, 22 September 2005 - The OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro, through its Office in Podgorica, will on 23 and 24 September hold a regional conference on public procurement best practices and standards in Budva, Montenegro.
The event, 'Regional Conference on efficient implementation of European standards in public procurement: legislative frameworks and best practices', is jointly organized with the Montenegrin Commission for Public Procurement and the Stability Pact Anti-Corruption Initiative/Regional Secretariat Liaison Office with financial support from the French Government.
It will bring together representatives of countries in the region, various public procurement institutions, as well as international organizations, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, foreign experts and media members.
The conference will focus on European public procurement standards and best practices in the field, as well as on identifying areas in the new Draft Public Procurement Law in Montenegro which require further improvement.
Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister, Miroslav Ivanisevic, President of the Montenegrin Public Procurement Commission Marko Lazarevic and Head of the OSCE Office in Podgorica, Ambassador Paraschiva Badescu, will attend the conference.
Media representatives are invited to attend the opening of the event from 9.30 to 10.00 on Friday, 23 September at the Hotel Panorama, in Becici/Budva.
