OSCE Mission to Serbia supports regional efforts in combating organized crime
On 5 September the OSCE Mission to Serbia donated six computers and one printer/scanner to the Serbian Interior Ministry, as part of a three-country regional project on combating organized crime.
The project, implemented together with the Interior Ministries in Podgorica and Skopje will assist the efforts of south-east European countries in their European integration process. It will equip Intelligence police analysts with the skills and knowledge necessary for developing an assessment report on emerging and changing trends in transnational organized crime. The report would be based on SOCTA (Serious Organized Crime Threat Assessments) criteria, which are in line with EUROPOL standards.
This initiative will also contribute to enhancing regional strategic police co-ordination, regional networks, and fostering capacity- and knowledge-building in the area of fighting transnational organized crime.
The project is financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and is being implemented by the OSCE Mission to Serbia in co-operation with the OSCE Missions to Skopje and to Montenegro.
