The ODIHR continued in 2005 to conduct a broad range of activities aimed at fostering democracy and the rule of law, promoting and protecting human rights, combating tolerance and non-discrimination, and assisting participating States in the implementation of their commitments.

 

Report by the NGO Alliance for Children's Rights, supported by the OSCE Office in Baku and the British Embassy in Baku. It reflects the empirical findings on the situation of children and children’s rights within the juvenile justice system and provides information about gaps in the functioning of those institutions.

This book is about the nature of police capacity-building and its specific role in support of the process of reform in police organizations in transition states, particularly those in a post-conflict period. It is written by a practitioner and is primarily intended for practitioners (capacity-building specialists) and the international organizations and states that fund or provide the practitioners. It is hoped that the beneficiaries themselves, the police organizations undergoing a reform process, might also benefit from the ideas and experiences contained in this book.

This book is a collection of English and Serbian essays that were presented at the international conference "Women in the Army", organized in October 2006 in co-operation with the OSCE Mission to Serbia and the Serbian Ministry of Defence. The essays are dedicated to women in the Serbian Army and highlight experiences from Russia, Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, Great Britain and France. The following publication is multilingual- available in English and Serbian languages.

2003 was a year of new opportunities for the OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), as change came in the form of new mandates in the field of Roma and Sinti and anti-trafficking and through the creation of a new Human Rights Section.
