Prior to taking up the agenda, the Chairperson informed the Permanent Council that the Chairperson-in-Office, in a letter issued on 5 June 2024 (Annex), had announced the adoption, through a silence procedure, of Ministerial Council Decision No. 1/24 on the time and place of the next meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council (Liechtenstein, also on behalf of Albania, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, interpretative statement 1; Russian Federation, interpretative statement 2). The Russian Federation’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine. Increasing military involvement of certain NATO and EU member States in yet more confrontation in and around Ukraine.
