OSCE supports workshop for civil society on research methods for alternative anti-corruption monitoring
On 22-23 August 2024, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe organized a two-day training workshop on research methods for alternative anti-corruption monitoring. The workshop was aimed at 19 representatives of the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations on Transparency and Anti-Corruption and graduates of the 2024 Anti-Corruption Summer School for Youth.
The objective of the workshop was to acquaint the participants with research design and methods for qualitative and quantitative research related to good governance and anti-corruption. The workshop included sessions and group work to introduce the process of alternative monitoring as one of the mechanisms to ensure transparency and accountability, as well as the basics of planning a sociological study according to academic standards. Participants were educated on types of applied research, methodology, problem analysis, purpose and objectives of the research, hypothesis formulation, and definition of key concepts. The second day of the workshop focused on survey methods for collecting empirical data and data analysis.
This activity is a part of the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe’s continual support to Tajikistan in promoting good governance and fighting corruption by backing civil society initiatives to combat corruption and increase public transparency and accountability.
