Some 30 representatives of the Karaganda Police Academy will participate in a three-day seminar to learn about psychological techniques for identification of potential criminals during mass events.
The series focuses on psychological profiling, including identifying the elements of risk profiles, crowd mentality and psychological methods of influencing an aggressive crowd, lie detection techniques using the behavioural signs of suspected person and drills to improve visual memory, concentration and division of attention. Experts will also present ways to use different risk indicators depending on the scope of work at mass events. A practical exercise will complement the training course.
The seminar will be led by experts from the Association of Psychologists and Behavioural Therapists of Kazakhstan.
The event is part of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana's activities to enhance security, increase accountability, and promote law enforcement personnel and the public’s knowledge and rights through politico-military co-operation.
