OSCE Observer Mission at the Russian Checkpoints Gukovo and Donetsk (discontinued)

What we do

The OSCE Observer Mission at the Russian Checkpoints Gukovo and Donetsk is being deployed following a request to the OSCE by Russia’s government and a consensus agreement by all 57 OSCE participating States. The observers are to contribute to reducing tensions during the current crisis.
Border management
The OSCE seeks to enhance border security while facilitating legitimate travel and commerce, protecting human rights and promoting human contacts. The observers will observe activities and movements across the border at the Donetsk and Gukovo checkpoints, based on OSCE principles and commitments related to border management.
Conflict prevention and resolution
The observers are to contribute to reducing tensions during the current crisis, thereby fostering stability and security.
