ODIHR co-organizes forum for Polish trade union lawyers on combating human trafficking
19 January 2011
A two-day workshop in Warsaw on 18-19 January will examine the role of trade unions in combating forced labour and human trafficking.
Co-hosted by ODIHR, the Polish trade union Solidarity, Poland's Interior Ministry and the International Trade Union Confederation, the workshop will explore how trade unions can contribute to preventing forced labour and human trafficking and assist exploited workers to access justice and remedies, including compensation.
The forum will also be an opportunity for representatives from trade unions, migrants-rights, and anti-trafficking organizations from Ireland and Poland to share good practices, discuss challenges, and make recommendations for action.
