Call for Applications: International Survivors of Trafficking Advisory Council (ISTAC)
We’re listening. And we’re building something that lasts.
If you are a survivor of human trafficking, your voice carries a kind of knowledge no textbook can teach.
And if you're ready to help shape how institutions respond — not just with words, but with action — we invite you to apply.
The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) is now accepting applications for the next term of the International Survivors of Trafficking Advisory Council (ISTAC).
What is ISTAC?
Established in 2021, ISTAC is the first international survivor-led council of its kind within an international organization. It exists to ensure that survivors are not only heard, but trusted as experts.
ISTAC advises ODIHR — and through ODIHR, OSCE participating States — on how to build safer, fairer systems to prevent trafficking and support those who have experienced it.
What ISTAC members do
Members of ISTAC share their insights and experience with ODIHR to:
-
Further guide the development of laws, policies and practices across the OSCE region
-
Help shape anti-trafficking tools and survivor-led initiatives
-
Promote ethical, meaningful inclusion of survivor voices
-
Strengthen survivor networks, both nationally and internationally
Since its launch, ISTAC has helped create:
