The webinar will consist of a discussion with gender and security experts exploring the gender dimensions of security and justice responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will also produce recommendations on how to integrate gender perspective and promote gender equality into the work of national and international institutions working with security and human rights.
This is the second online event dedicated to the promotion of the Gender and Security toolkit and application developed by ODIHR together with the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and UN Women.

Specifically, the webinar will touch upon:
- The gender impact of governmental responses to the COVID-19 pandemic
- Increased vulnerabilities
- Innovative approaches to ensure gender-sensitive delivery of security
This facilitated conversation will include answers to the following questions:
- What happens when COVID-19 protocols affect how police respond to domestic violence?
- How might gender bias affect the design of responses to COVID-19?
- Can new ways of cooperating with civil society be embedded in security and justice service provision?
