Naser Nuredini, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office on Climate Change.
Biography
Naser Nuredini started his career in Vienna and London within the international banking sector while holding different advisory roles dedicated to investment, finance and asset management with a particular focus on the Western Balkans and Emerging Europe markets. Over the years, he worked on structured derivatives financing and participated in numerous IPOs and SPOs, before being appointed to manage proprietary investments and linear investment portfolios.
Naser Nuredini served as Minister of Environment and Physical Planning in the Republic of North Macedonia from June 2019 to February 2023, and was elected as a member of Parliament in July 2020. In his mandate, numerous key laws on waste management, environmental inspection, industrial emissions, climate action, water and environmental protection were passed and prepared for the parliamentary process.
Another major success during this period was the proclamation of new protected areas in North Macedonia, including the Shar Mountains National Park. He oversaw the country’s updated NDCs to the Paris Agreement, established a strategy for the country to create a sustainable tourism industry and ensured sound financial footing for the Ministry to implement a wide range of environmental initiatives in the country.
He graduated from the University of Brighton in International Business.
