The conference "Journalists Under Attack: a threat to media freedom" provided testimonies by journalists who have been victims of attacks, to illustrate the gravity of the situation in the OSCE region.

Addressing the genuine risk of being targeted with legal procedures and vexatious litigation that journalists and other media workers face, the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media (RFoM), Teresa Ribeiro, launched today a special report on legal harassment and abuse of the judicial system against the media.
The report elaborates on the role of both law enforcement agencies and journalists during public assemblies, and offers observations and recommendations in order for the media to be able to provide coverage of such public events without undue hindrance.
