OSCE Mission to Montenegro holds anti-corruption course for public officers
PODGORICA, 10 November 2008 - Helping Montenegrin public officers better fight and report on crimes involving corruption is the purpose of a three-day OSCE training course that began today in the town of Milocer.
The course, organized by the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, uses a set of instructions and procedures developed by the Police Directorate with the support of the OSCE Mission. Officials from the Police and Anti-Corruption Directorates, the State Prosecutor's Office and the Justice Ministry are participating in the course.
"This course will help Montenegro develop a resolute and qualified police force, which in co-operation with an efficient judiciary and support from the Directorate for Anti-Corruption Initiative, could help the country develop institutional and legal mechanisms to rein in this destructive phenomenon," said Waldemar Figaj, Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro.
The course is part of the OSCE Mission's support for Montenegro's anti-corruption efforts.
