Model OSCE engages youth from both banks of Dniester/Nistru River in conflict resolution
The second edition of the Model OSCE Conference in Vadul lui Voda, a small town located by the Dniester/Nistru River, was held by the OSCE Mission to Moldova on 16-19 October. The Model OSCE aims at engaging youth from both banks in conflict resolution.
The Model OSCE Conference simulates the OSCE Permanent Council during a crisis situation, while the participants represent OSCE participating States and OSCE institutions to resolve the crisis.
“The Model OSCE is not only about conflict resolution and learning about the OSCE, it is also about bringing people together,” said Paula Redondo, Spokesperson of the OSCE Mission to Moldova. – “We hope that young generations from both banks get together and build a common space through these projects.”
The event brought together 34 motivated students from Tiraspol, Comrat and Chisinau, interested in international relations and diplomacy. During the three-day conference, the participants received training on negotiation skills and extensive briefings on OSCE structures, decision-making and history of the Organization.
