The roundtable discussions serve as a means to receive insight from relevant actors on the issues of countering terrorism and violent extremism, through engaging with civil society, municipal officials, local community actors, parents, teachers, youth and religious leaders. The suggestions and information gathered will be used to assist the National Committee for Countering Violent Extremism and Counter-terrorism in drafting the government’s revised Strategies and Action Plans.
The discussions aim to facilitate public consultation and recognize the voice of communities, identify local challenges, create links and communication between stakeholders, foster co-operation among institutions and civil society, and identify capacity and awareness gaps.
