OSCE Mission supports improved provision of local administrative services to Serbian citizens
To improve the efficiency of the local administration and its services to Serbian citizens, some 1180 employees of 136 local self-government units from across Serbia completed an OSCE Mission-supported online course on the implementation of the new Law on General Administrative Procedure. The ceremony of awarding certificates took place on 29 August 2017 in Belgrade.
Following the successful completion of several online training courses over the previous three years, in April this year, the OSCE Mission to Serbia supported the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities in developing a new online course on the implementation of the new Law on General Administrative Procedure.
“Capacity building and continuous learning of local self-governments staff is of key importance for improving the services they provide to Serbian citizens,” said the OSCE Mission to the Serbia’s Senior Governance Advisor Kathrin Gabriel. “The strong interest in this training speaks volumes when it comes to the high-level of awareness about the need for a more effective administration at the local level.”
She also added that the new Law on General Administrative Procedure is a crucial piece of legislation when it comes to the improved operation of public administration, and an important tool in achieving better governance at all levels.
