OSCE Mission to Montenegro supports training course for Montenegro’s parliamentary services
A training workshop on conflict management for the Montenegrin parliamentary services concluded on13 October in Podgorica. The two-day workshop was organized by the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, in collaboration with the Parliamentary Human Resources department.
The workshop’s participants consisted of secretaries of standing committees together with departmental heads of the parliamentary services. The session offered the 14 participants an insight into the nature of conflicts and ways to react to conflicts.
Special attention was given to new practices and approaches in conflict management and the participants were exposed to different strategies for resolving conflicts, based on interest and alternative dispute resolution. This served as an introduction to negotiation techniques and the facilitation of solving conflicts.
Participants evaluated the training as insightful and productive and recommended continuing these activities, which aim not only to strengthen specific skills and knowledge, but also to deepen understanding and co-operation among the staff of different departments.
This was the last in the series of three training workshops implemented during 2017. The programme is the continuation of last year's efforts with the goal of strengthening the efficiency and the further development of a sustainable and modern parliamentary service.
