OSCE Mission-supported Para Sports Games for people with special needs conclude in Vushtrri/Vučitrn
On the weekend of 16 and 17 September 2023, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo supported the Kosovo Paralympic Committee in organizing Para Sports Games for people with special needs, held annually at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety in Vushtrri/Vučitrn.
Each year, the games bring together around 400 participants from different communities across Kosovo for sport competitions, such as wheelchair races, basketball, football, and other activities like rope pulling, painting, and chess. They aim to build trust and strengthen co-operation between participants and Kosovo Police, and also raise awareness on the necessity to include people with special needs in social life.
The Para Sports Games were initiated by the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, with the first edition held in 2005. Since then, the Mission has been continuously supporting their organization, including this year’s 17th edition.
