3 March 2023
The OSCE Mission in Kosovo delivered a five-day training to 14 officials of the Kosovo Agency on Forensics (KAF) and Kosovo Police (KP) crime scene investigators on the latest forensic techniques and methods used in the examination of crime scene fingerprints.
Participants explored the development of traces of papillary lines and how to enhance and document credible and admissible forensic evidence. They practiced the preservation of evidence using various methods, including alternate light sources and utilizing advanced photography techniques.
Mehrije Arifaj Hajdari, Fingerprint Expert at the Kosovo Agency on Forensics, said that these kinds of trainings are needed so that they can utilize new methods as best as possible. “Keeping up with the latest methods and techniques helps us to professionally handle various evidence and cases we come across in our work,” she said.
