Five prisoners released in Kosovo

PRISTINA, 23 January 1999 - Five civilians, taken hostage on Friday January 22, were released tonight as a result of KVM efforts.
The five were abducted from the village of Nevoljane, near Vucitrn, by masked men.
The KVM issued a strong condemnation of the abduction as a terrorist action, and called upon the KLA to release them.
KVM representatives negotiated with KLA contacts all day, and late afternoon they were freed. KVM representatives brought them back into safety.
