OSCE Mission releases first turnout figures in second round of balloting facilitation in Kosovo
PRISHTINË/PRIŠTINA, 20 May 2012 – Voter turnout in the second round of the balloting facilitation in Kosovo was reported at approximately 11 per cent by 14:00 hrs today by the OSCE Mission in Kosovo.
The Head of the OSCE Mission, Ambassador Werner Almhofer, visited several polling stations and met the OSCE staff running the balloting facilitation centres.
“I am pleased to note that all polling stations opened in good time this morning and that voting is proceeding without incident,” he said while visiting a balloting facilitation centre in Zvečan/Zveçan.
“Polling stations will remain open till 20:00 hrs and we will continue our operation until the last voter waiting in line has cast his or her ballot.”
More than 110,000 voters in Kosovo are eligible to vote in the second round of the Serbian presidential elections under the OSCE-run balloting facilitation.
