Deadline set to observe start of Kosovo electoral process

PRISTINA, 6 June 2002 - Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other civic groups wishing to observe the start of voter services and the registration process for the upcoming Kosovo municipal elections must apply for observer status by 17 June.
Applications will, however, continue to be accepted for observation of voter services and all other electoral processes beyond this date.
Observers have access to a wide range of election-related activities - including voter services, Municipal Election Committee meetings, individual polling stations and the counting centre. Election observers must remain impartial, be politically neutral and are prohibited from interfering in any aspect of the electoral process.
