OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President visits Kosovo
PRISTINA 21 March 2001
PRISTINA, 21 March 2001 - The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Adrian Severin, will be visiting Kosovo on 21 and 22 March 2001.
During his stay Mr. Severin will be holding discussions with Ambassador Gary Matthews, Principal Deputy of the UN Special Representative in Kosovo, Lieutenant General Carlo Cabigiosu, Commander KFOR, OSCE and political representatives in Kosovo. He will also be meeting with the presidents of a number of Municipal Assemblies.
Mr. Severin travels to Kosovo following his address to the second Conference of Parliaments of South-East Europe which took place in Skopje from 20-21 March 2001.
Mr. Severin, a former Foreign Minister of Romania, was elected president of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly last year. The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly represents more than three hundred parliamentarians of the 55 OSCE participating states. Its aim is to promote parliamentary involvement in the activities of the OSCE and facilitate inter-parliamentary dialogue and co-operation.
