Last day of registration in Kosovo - over one million register
PRISTINA 19 July 2000
PRISTINA, 19 July 2000 - Just over one million Kosovars have taken part in the Civil and Voter Registration process which comes to a successful end today.
The process was extended for three days to accommodate late registrants following an increase in demand last week. However, preliminary figures for this week show that that demand has now tapered off. As a result, there will be no further extension of the deadline.
Registration centres around Kosovo will close at their normal time of 7pm this evening. However, anyone still waiting to have their application processed at that time will be accommodated.
