Austria's Werner Almhofer new head of OSCE Mission in Kosovo

PRISHTINE/PRISTINA, 1 October 2008 - Ambassador Werner Almhofer from Austria took office today as the new Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo.
Prior to his appointment, Ambassador Almhofer was the Austrian ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, a post he held since March 2005. He was the head of the Unit for Common Foreign and Security Policy and European Correspondent at the Austrian Foreign Ministry, and served as Chargé d'Affaires and in other posts at the Austrian embassy in Belgrade.
Ambassador Almhofer succeeds Tim Guldimann of Switzerland as Head of the OSCE Mission.
