Deadline for nominations for the Max van der Stoel Award extended to 30 June
The deadline for receipt of nominations for the 2011 Max van der Stoel Award has been extended to 30 June 2011.
Persons, groups or institutions, who believe they have improved the position of minorities in the OSCE region, are encouraged to inform the OSCE field operations in their country or the relevant OSCE delegation in Vienna. Nominations can only be submitted by Permanent Representations of OSCE participating States, OSCE Institutions and OSCE field operations.
This year, the Award ceremony will also commemorate the late Max van der Stoel, who, as the first OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, helped to shape and develop this institution and continues to inspire our work.
The Max van der Stoel Award, a prize worth EUR 50,000, is presented every two years to a person, group or an institution for extraordinary and outstanding achievements in improving the position of national minorities in the OSCE participating States.
