OSCE media freedom representative condemns attack on TV crew in Prishtinё/Priština

VIENNA, 11 May 2016 – OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatović today condemned an attack on a television crew on Tuesday in Obilic, near Prishtinё/Priština.
A crew from TV Most, including journalist Jasmina Stojković, cameraman Boban Sekulić, and driver Aleksandar Sotlić, were verbally and then physically assaulted by an unknown assailant. According to reports, the cameraman was attacked with a shovel while the crew was filming a news report on humanitarian aid allocation to the Branko Radicevic school in Obilic, on 10 May.
“Violence against journalists is an attack against free expression and the society as a whole,” Mijatović said. “It is vitally important to quickly investigate this crime and punish the assailants.”
