OSCE media freedom representative condemns attack against media outlet in Montenegro

VIENNA, 19 October 2015 – OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatović today called for a full investigation into the recent attack on the office of TV Pink M in Podgorica, Montenegro, in which one journalist suffered minor injuries.
“I condemn the attack on TV Pink M’s editorial offices and I trust that the perpetrators of this crime will be brought to justice,” Mijatović said, welcoming the swift response of law enforcement officials in the case. “The authorities must end impunity by ensuring that all cases of attacks against journalists in the country are thoroughly investigated.”
On 18 October, stones were thrown at the office building of TV Pink M, injuring editor Ivana Drobnjak and causing material damage. Drobnjak had to seek medical treatment for her injuries. The police have started an investigation into the matter and a suspect has been arrested.
