26th IPRM meeting takes place in Ergneti

ERGNETI, 24 September 2012 – On 24 September, the 26th meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM), co-facilitated by the EU Monitoring Mission and the OSCE, took place in Ergneti.
Participants discussed the current security situation, including the movement of military equipment, specific recent incidents, certain detention cases and the position regarding missing persons. The freedom of movement for those living in the village of Zardiantkari was discussed. The safety of those carrying out the autumn harvest was raised.
Giving advance notice of the relocation or reinforcement of check points and observations posts was discussed. The importance of all sides giving early notification of military movement and military exercises was stressed.
The meeting was held in a business-like atmosphere.
It was agreed that the next meeting will take place on 24 October 2012.
The Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms were established under the Geneva International Discussions, which are co-chaired by the OSCE, the EU and the UN.
