25th IPRM meeting takes place in Ergneti
ERGNETI, 26 July 2012 - On 26 July, the 25th meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism, co-facilitated by the EU Monitoring Mission and the OSCE, took place in Ergneti.
Participants reviewed the current situation, recent incidents, detentions and the position regarding missing persons. The release of detainees on 20 July was welcomed and the possibility of the release of more detainees was raised.
The discussion on the situation in Zardiantkari continued. The activation of the hotline in connection with agricultural activities along the Administrative Boundary Line in the forthcoming harvest period was raised. The importance of giving advance notice of the relocation or reinforcement of check points was discussed.
The meeting was held in a business-like and constructive atmosphere.
It was agreed that the next meeting will take place on 24 September 2012.
The Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms were established under the Geneva International Discussions, which are co-chaired by the OSCE, the EU and the UN.
