OSCE Centre in Bishkek supports training on digital computer technology in forensic examination
BISHKEK, 10 August 2010 - An OSCE-supported training course on the use of computer technology in forensic examination starts today in Bishkek.
The two-week course focuses on the use of digital computer technology in forensic work and major crime investigations.
"These training courses will enable Kyrgyzstan's police forensic experts to develop the skills they need to use modern forensic techniques," said Lilian Darii, the Deputy Head of the OSCE Centre in Bishkek.
Kanat Imanaliev, Chief of the Forensic Centre at Kyrgyzstan's Interior Ministry, added: "Computer technologies are a must in forensic crime investigation work and training courses such as this one are very important for our forensic experts."
Fifteen participants from all regions of the country are taking part in the training course, taught by an expert from the Russian Interior Ministry.
The participants in the course will later organize similar training courses in their police departments.
