OSCE trains operators of the Unified State Emergency Dispatching Agency to respond to emergency situations in Kyrgyzstan
BISHKEK, 5 September 2016 – With the support of the OSCE Centre in Bishkek, the Crisis Management Centre of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan conducted a series of 14 training courses for operators of the Unified State Emergency Dispatching Agency (USEDA). The training was held from 22 August to 4 September 2016 in the Osh, Jalal-Abad, Batken, Issyk-Kul, Talas, Chui regions.
The courses enabled the operators of dispatching services of the USEDA provincial branches to increase their responsiveness in emergency situations and enhance their understanding of the functioning of the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Unified Information Management System, which was established with the OSCE’s support in 2014.
“The training courses were conducted for 264 operators, of the Duty Dispatching Services (DDS) Nos. 101, 102, 103, and 20 representatives of district administrations and mayor’s offices,” said Mukhamed Svarov, Head of the Crisis Management Centre. “As a result of the training the participants learned how the USEDA operates. All operators of DDS who were trained on-site are now fully prepared for their duties,” he noted.
“Such training courses considerably increase the efficiency of USEDA operators in emergency situations,” said Dmitry Prudtskikh, Environmental Officer at the OSCE Centre in Bishkek. “USEDA will enable about three million people in six regions of Kyrgyzstan to quickly report about emergency situations to the appropriate authorities.”
The training course is part of the OSCE’s project on promoting environmental security through dialogue and enhanced disaster risk reduction.
