Kyrgyz officials learn about new generation passport technology during OSCE-supported study tour to South Korea
The OSCE Centre in Bishkek organized a one-week study visit to South Korea on 7-12 December 2015 for representatives of Kyrgyz government agencies to familiarize them with best practices in introducing biometric passports.
Some 13 representatives of the Kyrgyz State Registration Service, Information Technology Services of the State Tax Inspection and the Ministry of Finance took part and learned about of the work of the Citizen Service Centres, the e-Government system, information and data security tools, as well as inter-agency co-operation.
Daniele Rumolo, the Head of the Human Dimension at the OSCE Centre in Bishkek, noted that the State Registration Service had recently presented its comprehensive plan for 2016-2017 to donors, and that the Centre is ready to provide support for implementing the plan.
Dastan Dogoev, Deputy Chairperson of State Registration Service said: “I am confident that the knowledge we obtained will help us to develop our system on the basis of experience and technologies of developed countries.”
The visit was organized as part of the OSCE Centre’s project on promoting free, fair and transparent parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic in 2015.
