OSCE supports energy efficiency workshops for secondary school teachers in Kazakhstan
An OSCE-supported training seminar on energy efficiency and energy saving measures for some 70 secondary school teachers took place on 20 February 2017 in Karagandy, Kazakhstan.
The event was the last in a series of three educational training seminars designed for Russian-language speaking teachers in Almaty, the Almaty Region and the Akmola Region.
Some 210 secondary school teachers of geography, biology, information technology and elementary curricula learnt the most effective methods to teach students about environmental issues.
The training seminars were organized by the Office in partnership with the Education and Science Ministry, the non-governmental organization Human Health Institute, the Norwegian Society for the Conservation of Nature and Ecoobraz, a public association dealing with environmental education.
The workshops are part of the Office’s long-term efforts at promoting renewable energy and green growth policies in the host country and are a follow-up of last year’s initiative for the Kazakh-speaking population.
