Albanian Parliament Speaker praises OSCE work in his country

TIRANA, 13 September 2002 - The Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Servet Pellumbi, praised the OSCE's role in consolidating democratic institutions in Albania.
"We are at a new phase of understanding and co-operation among the parliamentary forces, which now requires higher standards of Parliamentary activities," Mr. Pellumbi said after a meeting with the Acting Head of the OSCE Presence in Albania, Eric Filipink.
"In this process," the Speaker continued, "quick implementation of the OSCE project for the modernisation of Parliament's capacities will be useful and will contribute to increasing the efficiency of Parliamentary structures."
The Acting Head of the OSCE Presence in Albania said he was happy to assist the Parliament in confronting its new challenges.
