Based on the results of the needs assessment, in 2009-2011 the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine supported piloting of the Ukrainian National Referral Mechanism to assist victims of human trafficking in Donetsk and Chernivtsi regions. These regional activities focused on improvement of necessary legislation and strengthening the capacity of Ukrainian authorities to be better skilled in identification, referral and assistance to trafficking survivors. The regional conference will gather representatives of key local stakeholders involved in the piloting activities to discuss its results and prepare for multiplication of the positive experience at the national level starting 2012 onwards.
