In Donetsk region the Mission recorded fewer ceasefire violations compared with the previous reporting period. In Luhansk region, the SMM recorded more ceasefire violations, but fewer explosions, compared to the previous reporting period. The Mission observed damage from shelling and shooting in Novotoshkivske and Dokuchaievsk, respectively, and followed up on allegations of civilian casualties in Novoazovsk. The Mission continued monitoring the disengagement areas near Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote and Petrivske and heard a shot of small-arms fire inside the Stanytsia Luhanska disengagement area. The SMM’s operations in Donetsk and Luhansk regions remained restricted following the fatal incident of 23 April near Pryshyb; these restrictions continued to limit the Mission’s observations. Between the evenings of 26 and 27 May the Mission recorded more ceasefire violations in Donetsk region but fewer in Luhansk region compared with the previous reporting period. Between the evenings of 27 and 28 May the SMM recorded more ceasefire violations in both Donetsk and Luhansk regions compared with the previous 24-hour period. The Mission observed damage to multiple civilian houses due to shelling in Krasnohorivka, Dokuchaievsk and Pikuzy. The SMM monitored a weapon in violation of withdrawal lines. The Mission continued monitoring the disengagement areas near Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote and Petrivske. The SMM’s operations in Donetsk and Luhansk regions remained restricted following the fatal incident of 23 April near Pryshyb; these restrictions continued to limit the Mission’s observations. The SMM recorded more ceasefire violations in Donetsk region – including, however, fewer explosions – compared with the previous reporting period. It recorded more ceasefire violations in Luhansk region. The Mission monitored the disengagement areas near Zolote and heard one explosion assessed as outside the Stanytsia Luhanska area.
