Field offices organize local project-related events. Being in charge of three OSCE field offices in Khatlon, Erica Masiero highlights field offices’ important role in the development of good relations with the communities they support: “The OSCE should not just be seen as a distant presence protected by high walls. It’s a partner, and we have to be accessible. Through our field offices we try to reach out to as many local people as possible. In the Kurgan-Tyube field office we host up to three events in our premises each month bringing together local politicians, academics and civil society activists”, Kurgan-Tyube, 2 June 2015.
