The fourth Aarhus Centre to be established in Serbia over the past two years will be opened in Niš on 2 November. The Centre will promote Aarhus Convention principles, facilitate and promote access to environmental information and contribute to greater inclusion of civil society in discussions and decisions related to improving the environment in south and east Serbia.
The event will gather some 50 participants, including representatives of the Ministry of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection, the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities, local self-government, environmental NGOs, the media and the business sector. The Aarhus Centre’s website, set up with OSCE support to provide environmental information for south and east Serbia, will also be presented.
