This seminar will gather mid- and senior-ranking cstoms officials as well as private sector representatives and freight forwarders from countries in Central Asia, the South Caucasus and Eastern Europe as well as from Afghanistan. The working languages will be English and Russian, with simultaneous interpretation provided.
The seminar will accomplish a two-fold objective:
- Provide training on the latest developments related to the WCO SAFE Framework of Standards with a special emphasis on the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) programme, its benefits and requirements. Discuss and explain the increasing role of ICT and non-intrusive inspection methods in modern border management.
- Identify areas and gaps that require national, tailor-made follow-up capacity-building activities.
